Frequently Asked Questions
What types of slides do you digitize?
We digitize standard 35mm photographic slides, including mounted slides in plastic or cardboard mounts. We do not convert other media forms. Specialization helps keep our prices low.
How many slides can I send?
Slides are processed in batches of 250 slides per order unit. You can order multiple units if you have more than 250 slides.
How should I package my slides for shipping?
We recommend placing slides in sturdy boxes with padding to prevent movement during shipping. Please use a trackable and insured shipping service and ensure the package is securely sealed.
Should I send slides in carousel trays?
No. Please do not send slides in carousel trays, as these trays cannot be included in return shipping.
What format will my digital images be delivered in?Your slides will be converted into quality digital image files (JPEG format).
How will I receive my digital images?
Your digital images will be delivered on a USB flash drive or SD card, depending on the option you select when placing your order. Please purchase the USB flash drive or SD card from us to ensure that files on your own storage devices are not lost or corrupted.
How long does the digitization process take?
Please allow two to three weeks for digitization, plus up to eight business days for return shipping.
Will my slides be organized the same way when they are returned?
We do our best to maintain the organization of your slides as they were received. However, the exact order cannot always be guaranteed.
Can you improve faded or damaged slides?
Our service focuses on digitizing slides as they are. While our scanning process optimizes lighting and exposure, we do not perform manual image restoration or editing.
What if some of my slides are damaged or very old?
Older slides may show signs of aging, such as fading, color shifts, scratches, or dust. These characteristics may appear in the digitized images because they exist in the original slide.
How long do you keep my digital files?
We retain digitized files for 30 days after order completion in case there are any issues with delivery. After that period, files will be permanently deleted.
What if I have fewer than 250 slides?
Our service is structured in 250-slide processing units. The minimum order size is 250 slides, and additional slide units are also purchased in 250-slide increments.
